About LSHTM

London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is a leader in research, postgraduate studies, and continuing education in public and global health. The school is one of the highest-rated research institutions in the United Kingdom, with an annual research income upwards of $200 million. They have 3,500 staff conducting research in over 100 countries, and more than 4,750 students all working with a collective purpose to improve health across the world.

The Challenge

LSHTM were migrating several crucial business functions from locally hosted software to cloud-based platforms. While their IT department had developed their own integrations in the past, the scale of the migration made building new integrations a daunting task.

Why choose Ferrio?

Business Systems Manager Trevor Litchmore said the decision to adopt Ferrio Connect as their integrations platform was an easy choice in the end, because of the hands-on support the team could offer. Our software team worked directly with LSHTM’s developer to build the first integrations before handing full control to their team.

When we talked about prices and how we can work together, it was a no brainer really. It felt like a partnership, which is what you want in your contractors.

Moving quickly with Ferrio Connect

Ferrio Connect offers a no-code, drag-and-drop interface for building complex workflows. This meant developers have flexibility to build integrations that perfectly reflect their existing workflows, without a massive development burden on their hands to bring integrations online.

Implementing the first integration was really straightforward… I was very quickly able to develop a good understanding of how the system works, how it was designed and how it solves problems.

The future of Ferrio Connect at LSHTM

The first integration introduced was a simple test case, automating a weekly task that had been done manually for years. Trevor and Abdoulie have already seen personal value from this integration and have big ambitions for the platform. They expect Ferrio Connect to become a key tool in their move to the cloud, with multiple further integrations in the pipeline.
